ENT Hospitals and Doctors in Iran: Compare the Team Behind the Procedure

Ear, nose and throat symptoms do not all belong on one surgery list. This guide helps an international patient compare ten Iranian facilities and ten professional records, then ask about diagnosis, the right subspecialty, a written price, recovery and care after returning home.

It includes hearing and ear surgery, nasal and sinus conditions, tonsils, voice problems, children’s care and head-and-neck referrals. Read the ENT Treatment in Iran landing guide for the broader treatment journey.

Our approach. This comparison reflects the experience of the hamintour Medical Tourism team and feedback from patients, checked against the institutions’ own pages and direct Iranian Medical Council records. It is an informational guide, not a paid advertorial or a clinical-outcome ranking. A published service does not prove that a given surgeon will accept your case, that every branch offers it or that it will be right for you.

hamintour is a coordination platform, not a hospital, clinic or medical team. We do not diagnose, prescribe or operate. The treating licensed clinician and facility make medical decisions after assessment and informed consent. A child with breathing difficulty, severe bleeding, a rapidly worsening infection, sudden hearing loss or a person with airway symptoms needs prompt local care rather than a medical-travel booking.

How to use a provider comparison responsibly

Begin with the clinical problem rather than a list of famous surgeons. Nasal obstruction can be caused by a deviated septum, enlarged turbinates, allergy, chronic sinus inflammation or several factors together. The American Academy of Otolaryngology patient guide explains why an examination should identify other causes of blockage before septoplasty is proposed. Likewise, ear pain, hearing loss and vertigo need different assessments. The most useful shortlist is a shortlist of teams that actually treat your diagnosis.

We prioritize Tehran because an international patient may need a hearing test, CT review, anesthetic assessment or another specialty during one visit. Khalili Hospital in Shiraz is included as a non-Tehran university option when a referral or travel plan points there. These ten institutions are not ranked by cure rate; there is no comparable, audited outcome database here to justify that. Some source pages demonstrate a particular ENT department, while others only document the hospital and require direct confirmation of the active ENT pathway. We say which is which.

Ask the same questions of every candidate: Who will review my records? What diagnosis is likely and what findings might change it? Which surgeon and anesthetist will be involved? Which exact facility will perform the procedure? What tests or alternatives should I try first? What is the total USD quote and what is excluded? How long must I stay near the treating team? Who manages bleeding, infection, hearing change or breathing problems after I return home?

Choose a pathway that matches the complaint

Nose, sinuses and breathing

A rhinologist may assess blocked breathing, sinus disease, polyps and recurrent infection. Endoscopy or imaging may be useful in selected cases; a CT image alone is not an order for surgery. Medication and allergy care may also be part of the plan. ENT Health explains the range of causes. Clarify whether the proposal is septoplasty, turbinate treatment, sinus surgery, cosmetic rhinoplasty or a combination, because these are different operations and prices.

Ear disease and hearing

An otologist may evaluate recurrent discharge, a perforated eardrum, cholesteatoma, hearing loss or balance symptoms. Ask for an audiogram and whether CT or another test is needed. Tympanoplasty aims to close a perforation or manage middle-ear disease; it does not promise normal hearing. A cochlear implant is a distinct, multidisciplinary pathway involving candidacy testing, device selection, surgery and rehabilitation; NIDCD explains why it differs from a hearing aid.

Tonsils, sleep and airway

Recurrent infection and obstructive sleep symptoms call for diagnosis and consideration of other causes. A child’s treatment requires a pediatric pathway, anesthesia planning and a responsible accompanying adult. Tonsil surgery can cause significant postoperative pain and bleeding; the treating team should explain where to seek help during and after travel. Mayo Clinic’s patient overview describes indications and key risks.

Voice, swallowing and head and neck

Persistent hoarseness, swallowing difficulty or a neck mass should not be labeled a routine travel package. A laryngologist or head-and-neck team may need endoscopy, imaging or biopsy. If cancer is possible, coordinate with an oncology service and do not delay local evaluation. See our cancer-care information for broader questions to ask a multidisciplinary team.

Facial appearance is a separate goal. If you want the nose’s shape changed, review the dedicated Rhinoplasty in Iran guide and its surgeon comparison. Make the functional and aesthetic goals explicit in the same consultation; neither a photograph nor a breathing claim proves that both were addressed.

Ten ENT hospitals and centers to investigate

Each entry links to the institution and the most relevant original page found. Source strength differs. We have omitted map links when an exact destination could not be confirmed. Check the current department, doctor, address and international-patient eligibility directly before paying.

1. Amir Aalam Hospital

Ask before booking: Which named ENT surgeon will assess my specific condition, and at which facility will the procedure and first review take place?

Official institution website · Original facility or service information

4. Nikan Aghdasyeh Hospital

Setting: General hospital. Location: Tehran, Aghdasyeh, Bahman 22 Street.

Its institutional catalog and international-patient page show hospital services. Confirm the exact ENT procedure and named surgeon before booking.

Ask before booking: Which named ENT surgeon will assess my specific condition, and at which facility will the procedure and first review take place?

Official institution website · Original facility or service information

5. Asia Hospital

Setting: General hospital. Location: Tehran.

Its official physician directory offers a starting point to confirm an ENT appointment; the operating-room page alone does not prove a specific service is available.

Ask before booking: Which named ENT surgeon will assess my specific condition, and at which facility will the procedure and first review take place?

Official institution website · Original facility or service information

6. Parsa Hospital

Setting: General hospital with ENT department. Location: Tehran, Valiasr Street near Railway Square.

The hospital has a dedicated ENT department page describing diagnostic and treatment services and naming clinicians.

Ask before booking: Which named ENT surgeon will assess my specific condition, and at which facility will the procedure and first review take place?

Official institution website · Original facility or service information

7. Fatemeh Zahra Surgical Center

Setting: Surgical center with ENT clinic. Location: Tehran.

A dedicated ENT clinic is published on the surgical center’s own site. Ask which cases can be treated at this facility.

Ask before booking: Which named ENT surgeon will assess my specific condition, and at which facility will the procedure and first review take place?

Official institution website · Original facility or service information

8. Tehran Children’s Hospital

Setting: Pediatric hospital. Location: Tehran.

A pediatric hospital to contact for a child’s pathway. Its general hospital page does not establish availability of every ENT subspecialty.

Ask before booking: Which named ENT surgeon will assess my specific condition, and at which facility will the procedure and first review take place?

Official institution website · Original facility or service information

9. Imam Khomeini Hospital Complex

Setting: University hospital complex. Location: Tehran.

The complex has a university-hospital referral setting; ask its international office to confirm the relevant active ENT clinic.

Ask before booking: Which named ENT surgeon will assess my specific condition, and at which facility will the procedure and first review take place?

Official institution website · Original facility or service information

10. Khalili Hospital

Setting: University hospital. Location: Shiraz.

A Shiraz University of Medical Sciences hospital option for a referral outside Tehran. Confirm the current ENT service and overseas-patient process.

Ask before booking: Which named ENT surgeon will assess my specific condition, and at which facility will the procedure and first review take place?

Official institution website · Original facility or service information

A general hospital page is weaker evidence than a dedicated ENT department listing. It does not establish that cochlear implantation, skull-base surgery or pediatric anesthesia is available there. Request confirmation in writing for complex care; some patients may need a university referral or a center closer to home.

Ten ENT clinicians with direct professional records

The direct Iranian Medical Council link in each row is a registration check. The provider link is separate evidence of a published hospital or clinic context. Neither verifies an appointment today, an individual’s operative outcomes or employment at every listed facility. Recheck the profile and ask the center to name your lead surgeon. This list includes many general ENT doctors because the public records are verifiable; it is not a claim that all ten are suitable for complex ear, pediatric or skull-base care.

If your problem is hearing rehabilitation, a child’s airway or head-and-neck cancer, ask for the relevant subspecialty and multidisciplinary team rather than choosing a general ENT name from this table. The physician may work at more than one place; the facility, procedure and follow-up team must be named in your own written plan.

A short table for comparing written offers

Decision pointQuestion to sendWhat a useful answer should contain
DiagnosisWhat evidence shows this is a septal, sinus, ear, tonsil, voice or other problem?Examination findings, useful tests and reasonable alternatives.
ClinicianWho will operate and what is their practice focus?Full name, professional record and facility privileges.
ProcedureWhat exactly will be performed? Are any additional procedures planned?Plain-language scope and reasons for each step.
Hearing or breathing resultWhat measure will show improvement, and when? For example audiometry, nasal symptom assessment or endoscopic findings; no guaranteed outcome.
USD costWhat is included, excluded and charged if the plan changes?Written line items, anesthesia, hospital stay, medicines, tests and review.
TravelWhen may I fly and who treats a problem after I leave?Patient-specific clearance and a contact/handover plan.

Send the same summary and documents to each center. A written, comparable answer has more value than “best surgeon” advertising or a price without a procedure definition.

Real USD examples from an Iranian hospital tariff

The Kasra Hospital international-patient price page currently publishes an ENT table in USD. Its amounts are materially different from older versions of this article, so the figures below follow the source page that was checked for this edition. They are Kasra’s public listings, not Hamintour quotations or a national median. The table lists one night of hospitalization for each item; confirm whether the surgeon, anesthesia, tests, drugs and review are included.

Kasra’s published procedure labelApproximate published USDHospital stay shownClarification before comparison
Tonsillectomy$1,875One nightAdult or child, anesthesia and bleeding-care pathway.
Septoplasty$2,815One nightWhether turbinate or sinus work is additional.
Tympanoplasty$2,815One nightWhether ossicles, infection or further ear procedures are included.
Rhinoplasty and endoscopy$2,815One nightThe wording is ambiguous; request exact cosmetic and functional scope.

One procedure, different published price formats abroad

Septoplasty makes a limited comparison possible, provided the different inclusions remain visible. The Iranian source quotes a hospital tariff. The UK source calls its figure a hospital guide price that excludes several professional fees. The US source lists prepaid prices across participating providers. A Turkish hospital source describes individualized quotations and does not publish an exact comparable septoplasty amount; we do not invent one. These examples do not establish that any country is universally cheapest.

United Kingdom, Hospital of St John & St ElizabethFrom about $3,245£2,495 guide price illustrated at £1 ≈ $1.30; excludes consultation, diagnostic and professional fees.

All figures approximate. Source names: Kasra Hospital, Acibadem International, Hospital of St John & St Elizabeth, MDsave. The currency conversion is illustrative, not a live exchange rate; service scope differs. Only the treating facility can issue a binding quote.

Request a line-item plan for consultation, imaging or hearing tests, surgery, anesthesia, hospital stay, medicines, splint or packing removal, emergency coverage, reviews, hotel, transport and interpretation. For cochlear implants, skull-base work or tumor surgery, a generic surgical fee says little about device cost, rehabilitation or the team required. We do not publish an unsupported fixed price for those pathways.

Ask for a case-specific plan and quote

Once you have read the price and scope questions, share your ENT diagnosis or main symptom, existing hearing tests or scans, previous procedures, and the country you will travel from. We can help request a preliminary provider response. This form cannot replace an examination or urgent care.

When before-and-after photographs help—and when they do not

A nose-shape change can be visible, so a small selection of cosmetic rhinoplasty comparisons may help a patient discuss aesthetic preferences. These examples were published by the named surgeons and are hosted on Hamintour’s image server for clear mobile display. They are not presented as Hamintour patient outcomes, a clinical audit, or proof of improved breathing. Click through to the original provider page for context and ask for the case date, angles, healing interval and the named treating surgeon.

For septoplasty, sinus surgery, tympanoplasty, tonsil care or cochlear implantation, an external portrait is the wrong outcome measure. Ask instead about nasal symptoms and examination, endoscopy when relevant, hearing tests, closure of an eardrum perforation, voice or swallowing measures and the timing of follow-up. A cosmetic result does not demonstrate that an airway or ear problem was treated. Explore more rhinoplasty examples on Hamintour and the broader before-and-after collection if a visible procedure is your specific interest.

From records to return home: plan the whole ENT pathway

Before departure, send a concise history: the duration and pattern of symptoms, prior medicines or operations, allergies, scans, hearing tests, sleep study if applicable, and current prescriptions. Keep copies of the original reports and dates. The surgeon may repeat tests after arrival because symptoms change or the images do not answer the clinical question. If a child is the patient, ask about age-specific anesthesia, communication, vaccination or infection issues and the need for a caregiver throughout the stay.

Reserve time for in-person assessment before surgery. Confirm where the procedure will happen and whether an additional test could change the plan or cancel it. A flexible return flight matters. A Cambridge University Hospitals septorhinoplasty leaflet discusses a two-week no-flying period for that operation, but that is not a universal rule for every ENT procedure. Your treating surgeon decides based on the procedure, healing and examination.

Before leaving Iran, obtain the operative report, medication instructions, results of any hearing or pathology tests, the date of the next review, restrictions on flying or swimming and a direct route for urgent problems. Arrange the follow-up clinician at home before travel when a device, long-term hearing rehabilitation, recurring sinus disease or oncology care is involved. A cochlear implant is not complete at discharge; NIDCD describes the rehabilitation and learning involved.

Check your nationality’s entry requirements through the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, current security guidance from your own government, and overseas coverage with your insurer. The UK travel advisory and US travel advisory are examples; restrictions and conditions may change. Do not delay urgent local assessment for an international trip.

What hamintour Medical Tourism can coordinate

Our role starts with practical questions: which specialty should review the records, which center can accept the patient, what documents are missing, and what should a written quotation include? We can help connect you with appropriate doctors and facilities, organize the available reports, coordinate an initial review and appointments, and present more than one practical option according to the diagnosis, preferences and budget.

Once the patient and licensed clinical team agree on a plan, we can arrange flights on request, accommodation suited to recovery, airport reception, transfers between the hotel and medical facilities, an interpreter or companion when needed, and coordination of tests ordered by the doctor. During the stay we help maintain communication. After return we can help pass follow-up questions and reports back to the provider. We cannot provide diagnosis, prescribe medicine, guarantee a surgical result or substitute for emergency care.

Ask us to separate the provider’s medical charges from Hamintour coordination services and optional travel items in writing. Compare our offer with another offer covering the same procedure, facility, surgeon, anesthesia, stay and follow-up. Learn about the hamintour Medical Tourism platform, our role and services, the ENT treatment landing guide, and the medical magazine. You may also send an initial question by WhatsApp.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a ranking of the ten best ENT hospitals in Iran?

No. It is a comparison of institutions with identifiable source pages. We have no shared, independently audited outcomes for all ten. Match the diagnosis to a named clinician and facility.

Will septoplasty improve every blocked nose?

No. Allergy, sinus inflammation, turbinates and other causes may contribute. The ENT specialist should examine the nose and explain whether septoplasty, another treatment or no operation is appropriate.

Is a hearing test necessary before ear surgery?

Often an audiogram is central, but the treating otologist decides which tests are useful. Ask what hearing or disease-control outcome is realistic, not whether a photograph looks better.

Can a cochlear implant be arranged as a short surgery-only trip?

It requires eligibility assessment, device planning and substantial postoperative programming and rehabilitation. Build a care team at home before deciding to travel.

How soon may I fly after nasal surgery?

It depends on the exact operation and the surgeon’s postoperative examination. Some hospital instructions advise avoiding flights for about two weeks after septorhinoplasty; do not use that as a personal clearance.

How do I compare prices from Iran and other countries?

Confirm that each written offer covers the same operation, hospital stay, anesthesia, tests, medicines and reviews. Public example prices and converted currencies are not personal quotes.

Are the rhinoplasty photographs evidence of better breathing?

No. They show visible appearance in provider-published examples. Nasal airflow requires a separate clinical assessment, and an individual result cannot be predicted from another patient’s image.

Three reasonable starting points, depending on the question

These are not “top three” outcomes. They offer different published routes to investigate:

  1. Ebnesina Hospital, Tehran has a specific ENT department page and named clinicians. It is a useful first inquiry when the patient needs an adult or pediatric general ENT evaluation.
  2. Kasra Hospital, Tehran has an ENT physician directory and public USD international tariffs. Request the exact procedure, clinician and full inclusions rather than assuming the list price is final.
  3. Amir Aalam Hospital, Tehran is a university-hospital option for a referral discussion. Verify the current specialist clinic and its admission route for an overseas patient.

Use the full ENT Treatment in Iran guide to prepare a question list before contacting a provider.

Sources and limits

Original facility and Medical Council links sit beside each listing. Medical explanations draw on ENT Health, the US National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders, Mayo Clinic and UK hospital patient instructions. The USD tariff is a Kasra Hospital listing; country examples come from the named sources under the table. No source establishes that any of these institutions is best for every patient or that Hamintour delivers medical care. Recheck prices, clinician availability, visa conditions and travel advisories before booking.
