Independent planning guide for international patients

Non-Surgical Aesthetic Treatments in Iran

Considering fillers, wrinkle-relaxing injections, skin tightening or a complexion treatment in Tehran? This guide helps you compare procedures, realistic limits, approximate costs in US dollars, provider checks, travel planning and aftercare before you commit.

Hamintour Medical coordinates the practical side of the journey. Diagnosis, product selection, consent and treatment remain the responsibility of the licensed physician and treatment facility.

Is travelling to Iran for a non-surgical aesthetic treatment a sensible choice?

It can be, especially when you want several consultations in Tehran, need language and transport support, or plan to combine a short visit with a carefully selected treatment. It is less sensible when the trip is built around a bargain price, the proposed product cannot be verified, or you cannot remain nearby long enough for the clinician to review an early concern.

Non-surgical does not mean risk-free. Fillers can cause vascular occlusion and, rarely, skin injury, vision loss or stroke. Botulinum toxin can cause unwanted muscle weakness or other adverse effects. Energy devices can burn or pigment the skin when the device, settings or patient selection are unsuitable. The US Food and Drug Administration explains the serious risks of dermal fillers, while the American Academy of Dermatology provides a patient overview of botulinum toxin treatment.

A useful first question: “What is the least treatment needed to address my concern?” A responsible consultation may recommend a smaller plan, a staged approach, a different procedure, or no treatment.

What treatments are available?

The right category depends on what you want to change: movement-related lines, loss of volume, skin texture, pigmentation, laxity or unwanted fat are different problems. A photo alone cannot reliably determine the diagnosis or the safest treatment depth.

Expression lines

Botulinum toxin injections

Used to temporarily reduce selected muscle activity, commonly in the forehead, glabella and crow’s-feet area. It may also be considered for a gummy smile, masseter prominence or excessive sweating. Dose, placement and product identity matter.

Volume and contour

Dermal fillers

Often hyaluronic-acid based and used for lips, cheeks, chin, jawline, temples, folds and selected under-eye concerns. “Liquid rhinoplasty” is a high-risk use that requires advanced anatomical skill and careful case selection.

Skin quality

PRP, microneedling and skin boosters

These may target texture, superficial lines or hydration. Evidence and product regulation differ between methods. Ask exactly what is injected, whether it is licensed locally and how many sessions are being proposed.

Texture and pigment

Laser and light treatments

Different systems address hair, vessels, pigment, scars or resurfacing. Device name alone does not define a safe protocol; skin type, recent tanning, medications and operator training change the risk.

Firming

Radiofrequency, HIFU and energy tightening

These treatments heat tissue at controlled depths. Results are usually gradual and modest compared with surgery. Facial fat loss, burns or nerve symptoms are possible when treatment is inappropriate.

Surface renewal

Chemical peels and medical facials

Peels vary from superficial to deep. Recovery and pigment risk depend on acid, strength, exposure time and skin type. Deep procedures should not be treated like a casual spa service.

Selected lifting

Thread lifts

Threads are minimally invasive rather than purely non-invasive. They have different risks from fillers, including infection, dimpling, asymmetry and thread visibility. Ask what material is used and how complications are managed.

Body concerns

Non-surgical body contouring

Cooling, radiofrequency, ultrasound and other technologies may create limited changes in selected patients. They are not weight-loss treatments, and evidence varies by device and indication.

Caution

Fat-dissolving injections

Product and treatment area must be verified. The FDA warns that unapproved fat-dissolving injections have caused scarring, infection and deformity. Read its patient safety warning before considering them.

Fillers by facial area: what changes and what does not

AreaPossible goalQuestions to askImportant limitation
Lips and perioral areaVolume, border definition, proportion or selected linesWhich product, how much, and how will swelling affect the early result?Immediate photos may show swelling; symmetry and texture need later review.
Cheeks and midfaceRestore volume, support the midface or refine contourIs the concern volume loss, laxity or bone structure?More volume is not always more lifting; overfilling can look heavy.
Chin and jawlineProfile balance, projection or definitionHow many millilitres are estimated, and will filler mask a bite or skeletal issue?Filler cannot reproduce the structural change of orthognathic or implant surgery.
Under-eyeSelected tear-trough hollowsCould bags, oedema, pigmentation or skin laxity be the real problem? Not every dark circle is a volume problem; persistent swelling and a blue-grey hue can occur.
NoseCamouflage a small irregularity or alter profile appearanceHow often does the injector perform this high-risk area and what emergency plan is available? It cannot make a large nose physically smaller and carries serious vascular risk.
Temples and foldsRestore selected hollows or soften a creaseWhat depth and technique will be used? These areas contain important vessels; risk cannot be eliminated.

Safety checks before you pay a deposit

Verify the clinician.
Ask for the full Persian and English name and professional registration number. The Iran Medical Council directory is the official starting point for checking registration.
Identify the facility.
Request the exact Tehran address, facility name, treating clinician and whether a follow-up visit will occur at the same location.
Identify the product.
Ask for the brand, manufacturer, batch/lot, expiry date, sealed packaging and intended treatment area. Keep a photo of the label in your records.
Ask about emergencies.
For hyaluronic-acid filler, ask whether hyaluronidase is available and how suspected vascular occlusion is handled. Ask who answers after hours.
Declare your history.
Share allergies, pregnancy or breastfeeding, autoimmune conditions, cold sores, previous fillers, dental work, anticoagulants and all medicines or supplements.
Read consent first.
Consent should name the proposed product, common and serious risks, alternatives, aftercare and whom to contact. Translation should be available before treatment.
Urgent warning after filler: escalating pain, blanching or mottled skin, a cool area, unusual colour change, or any vision symptom needs immediate medical assessment. Do not wait for an online reply or a flight home.

Approximate non-surgical aesthetic treatment costs in Iran

Published prices are useful for planning, but a safe quotation requires the treatment area, product, quantity, clinician, device protocol and number of sessions. Very low quotes can omit product quantity, follow-up, translator, transport or complication management.

Tehran clinics and physicians to consider

There is no official national “best clinic” ranking. A useful shortlist starts with a verifiable clinician, an identifiable facility, relevant case experience, transparent products and a workable follow-up plan. Hamintour Medical has coordinated patient enquiries and care with Tehran providers including the examples below; the available clinician and service must be reconfirmed for each case.

Erfan Hospital Laser and Skin Clinic

A hospital-linked dermatology and laser service in Tehran with a published clinical team and a range of skin, laser and injectable services. Confirm which physician will personally assess and treat you.

Provider website

Nilforoushzadeh Clinic

A Tehran dermatology and aesthetic centre associated with Prof. Mohammad Ali Nilforoushzadeh. Its website publishes physician and service information. Verify the treating practitioner and product for your appointment.

Provider website

Tandis Beauty Clinic

A Tehran clinic listing injectable, skin and device-based treatments. Ask for the facility licence details, treating clinician’s registration and the exact device or injectable product proposed.

Provider information

Pamchal Skin, Hair and Beauty Clinic

A Sa’adat Abad clinic with extensive published galleries for fillers, facial contouring and botulinum toxin. Galleries help assess aesthetic style; they do not replace credential, product and consent checks.

Provider gallery

A provider’s own website is a first-party description, not independent proof of quality. Hamintour can request current documents and appointment details; the patient should review them before consenting.

A practical treatment journey

Define one or two priorities. Send clear, unfiltered photographs in daylight and describe what bothers you in your own words. Mention previous procedures and dates.
Share relevant health information. Include diagnoses, allergies, medicines, supplements, pregnancy status, cold-sore history and previous filler or implant details.
Receive a preliminary opinion. A photo review is provisional. Ask which options are being considered, why, estimated quantities, alternatives and when an in-person decision will be made.
Compare written plans. Compare clinician, facility, product, quantity, sessions, follow-up, translator, transport and cancellation terms—not just the total.
Verify travel requirements. Use the official Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs e-visa portal and the relevant diplomatic mission. Entry rules can change and vary by nationality.
Consult in person before treatment. The clinician should assess anatomy and skin, explain risks, answer questions and obtain consent. You may stop or postpone at this stage.
Keep your treatment record. Request the product label, batch, quantity, treated areas, clinician name, instructions and emergency contact.
Complete the review before departure. Discuss swelling, expected progression, warning signs, flight timing and how follow-up will work after you leave Iran.

Travel conditions after the recent US–Iran conflict

A ceasefire and subsequent de-escalation have reduced active hostilities. In Tehran and other major cities, daily life, private clinics, hotels, urban transport and many commercial services may be operating normally when you travel. This practical normality matters for treatment planning, but it should not be interpreted as a guarantee that every city, route or date is risk-free.

The regional situation remains capable of changing quickly. The United Nations has described the ceasefire as fragile and continues to call for restraint. The World Health Organization has also reported continuing pressure on parts of Iran’s health system after the hostilities. At the same time, the US Department of State, the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office and Australia’s Smartraveller advise their nationals not to travel to Iran. These advisories discuss risks that can include renewed military escalation, detention, limited consular assistance, disruption to flights and communications, and regional security incidents. Your nationality, dual-national status and travel history can materially change the legal and consular risk.

A clear distinction: a city can look calm and services can be open while a government travel advisory still recommends against travel. Hamintour can confirm the practical status of a clinic, hotel, airport transfer and local route, but it cannot certify that a destination is completely safe or replace advice from your government.

What an international patient should verify before paying

Check advice for your passport.
Read your own government’s Iran advisory and entry guidance. If you hold more than one nationality, check how Iran and your other country treat dual nationality and consular access.
Confirm that the route is operating.
Recheck the airline, arrival airport, onward transport, hotel and clinic shortly before payment and again before departure. Avoid a plan that depends on a single flight or same-day connection.
Keep away from sensitive locations.
Avoid military, government, nuclear and energy facilities, border areas, demonstrations and any place restricted by local authorities. Do not photograph security personnel or sensitive infrastructure.
Plan for communication interruptions.
Keep offline copies of your passport, visa, hotel and clinic details, emergency contacts and essential medical records. Agree on a meeting point and backup contact method with your coordinator.
Check insurance in writing.
Some policies exclude travel against official advice, conflict-related disruption, elective procedures or complications. Ask the insurer to confirm what remains covered, including medical evacuation.
Build in flexibility.
Choose changeable bookings where possible and keep extra medication, funds and recovery time. Postpone the trip if flights, local transport, clinic staffing or security conditions become uncertain.

Before an international patient travels, Hamintour Medical can reconfirm the appointment, receiving facility, accommodation and ground-transfer plan and share any operational changes known to the coordination team. The decision to travel remains the patient’s, taking account of official advice and personal risk factors. For a broader public-health view of the post-conflict recovery, see the WHO update on essential health services in Iran and the UN briefing on preserving the ceasefire.

Travel, payment and aftercare planning

Timing

Do not place an important event immediately after treatment. Bruising, swelling, peeling or redness may be visible. The final appearance of filler should not be judged from same-day photographs.

Money and payment

International cards may not work in Iran. Confirm accepted currency, payment timing and receipts before travel. Carry funds within applicable customs and legal limits and avoid informal transfers you cannot document.

Insurance

Travel insurance often excludes elective cosmetic treatment and its complications. Ask the insurer in writing what is covered. Plan how urgent care would be paid for if excluded.

Flying home

Flight timing depends on procedure, swelling, complications and your medical history. Follow the treating clinician’s advice rather than a generic internet timetable.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends checking provider credentials, planning follow-up and obtaining complete medical records when seeking care abroad. Its medical tourism guidance is a useful independent checklist.

General information only: this page does not diagnose a condition or recommend a personal treatment. Final suitability, product, dose, device settings and aftercare must be decided by a licensed clinician and authorised facility.

Before and after results by treatment area

These photographs are provider-supplied examples, hosted on Hamintour for page performance and attributed to the original gallery. They show possibilities, not promises. Hamintour did not independently verify patient identity, consent documentation, treatment volume, timing, editing or whether another procedure contributed. Use them to discuss style and proportion with a clinician.

For a fair comparison, look for similar angle, distance, lighting and expression. Ask how long after treatment the “after” image was taken. Immediate post-injection images may reflect swelling, while toxin results cannot be assessed properly without seeing facial movement.

About Hamintour Medical

Hamintour Medical Tourism is an Iran-based medical travel coordination platform. It helps international patients identify suitable options and communicate with physicians, clinics and hospitals. Hamintour is not a hospital, clinic or medical practice; it does not diagnose, prescribe, inject products or perform treatment.

Our role is to make the process easier to understand and manage while preserving the direct clinical relationship between patient and provider. We can gather documents, request preliminary opinions, clarify inclusions and coordinate practical services. The treating physician and licensed facility retain responsibility for medical decisions and care.

Frequently asked questions

How long should I stay in Tehran?

For a simple injection, many patients plan several days rather than arriving and leaving immediately. Your clinician may recommend a review after swelling settles. Energy-based treatments or combined plans can require a different schedule. Do not book a fixed return before the treating clinician confirms that the proposed timing is reasonable.

Can I have treatment on the day I arrive?

A same-day procedure may be possible, but consultation should come first. Fatigue, dehydration, incomplete records, active skin infection, dental work or an unsuitable plan can justify postponement.

Are fillers and Botox permanent?

Most botulinum toxin effects and many fillers are temporary, but duration varies. Some filler material may remain longer than the visible correction. Do not choose a product only because it is advertised as long-lasting.

Can Hamintour choose the product for me?

Hamintour can collect your preferences and help obtain information. The licensed treating clinician must decide whether treatment is appropriate and select the product, dose and technique with your informed consent.

How do I compare before-and-after photographs?

Look for similar lighting, angle, expression and timing. Confirm that the clinician or clinic performed the work, ask whether more than one procedure was used, and request results relevant to your anatomy and goal.

What should I do if I develop a complication after returning home?

Follow the written emergency plan, seek urgent local medical care for serious symptoms and contact the treating clinic. Hamintour can help reopen communication, but it cannot replace emergency or medical services.

Can I combine several treatments in one visit?

Sometimes, but more treatment can mean more swelling, more variables and harder complication assessment. The clinician should explain sequence, spacing and whether staging is safer.

Do I need a visa for medical travel to Iran?

Requirements depend on nationality and travel document. Check the official Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs e-visa portal and your nearest Iranian diplomatic mission before paying non-refundable travel costs.

Request a structured preliminary review
